Biography

Born 06.11.1971 in Moscow

Russian born artist,living in Moscow and Milan since 2015.

Graduated from Moscow Academic Art Liceum n. Tomsky(1984-1989),

Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov(1989-1996) as a painter ,

Master classes in NCCA Moscow(1996-1997).

In 2002-2014 collaborated with Aidan Gallery,participated in numerous domestic and international shows ,art festivals, art fairs.

Lives and works in Milan .

Artist Statement

“My secret code of art is joy” The theme of happiness for me is the most important component and meaning of my artistic credo. A feeling of joy is rare for research on the territory of modern art. I have been involved in this topic for many years. My media is a painting ,many of my projects somehow affect this aspect of life on the part of the female microworld. An important conceptual part for me is the use of personal experience and material in the formation of the project. Maria Pogorzhelskaya
